Frequently
Asked
Questions
1
What is the difference between OT and coaching?
Occupational therapy involves direct, child-focused evaluation and treatment to support specific developmental goals. Coaching is parent-focused—I guide and support you in understanding your child and using practical strategies at home. Both can complement each other, depending on your family’s needs.
2
Do you take insurance?
I am a private-pay provider and do not bill insurance directly. However, I can provide documentation (such as a superbill) that you may be able to submit for reimbursement, depending on your plan. If you decide to submit a superbill, you will need a doctor's referral prior to the evaluation.

What does a typical in-home session look like?
Sessions are play-based and tailored to your child’s interests and needs, so they look and sound a lot like your child having fun! We focus on building skills through meaningful activities, and parents are encouraged to be involved so you can carry strategies into everyday routines. If you've been looking for ways to connect with your child and help them build skills through play, this option may be a great fit. Sessions are 60 minutes and within your home.

What does a coaching session look like?
Coaching sessions are collaborative and conversation-based. We typically meet virtually for 60 minutes and will talk through your concerns, explore your child’s needs, and develop practical, realistic strategies you can use right away at home. This is a perfect option for those who want practical strategies they can implement immediately. Coaching sessions may include recommended visuals provided by the OT.
Coaching is not occupational therapy or medical care. It is educational and supportive in nature and does not include diagnosis or treatment. Participation does not establish a therapist-client relationship.
