Caregiver Coaching
Less confusion, more connection. Support and realistic steps that fit your family’s needs now.
Service Description
I use my experience as an occupational therapist, along with a neurodiversity-affirming lens, to help you better understand your child and feel more confident supporting them in everyday life. If you’ve been feeling unsure, overwhelmed, or like the typical advice just doesn’t quite fit you and your child - we’ve got this! Coaching is a space for you to ask questions, gain clarity, and explore practical ideas that feel realistic for your family or organization. Together, we focus on building understanding, connection, and supportive environments that truly work for your child, not forcing them to fit into something that doesn’t. Some of the topics families and organization often find helpful include: • Understanding your child’s sensory needs (sensory integration overview) • Creating sensory-friendly routines at home • Building skills and meaningfully connecting with your child through play • Incorporating neurodiversity-affirming practices into daily life • Advocating for your child’s unique needs in school and your community If you’re wondering about something not listed here or you are an organization (preschool, pediatrician, etc) looking for more support, please book a consultation call or email me at karly@joyfulrootsot.com first. Important note: Coaching is parent- or caregiver-focused guidance and education. It is not direct occupational therapy, does not include evaluation or treatment of your child, and does not replace occupational therapy services when they are needed.
